Museum of Us Update

So the publication date for my book is coming up soon, and I was hoping to do some kind of an update about what’s going on with that. But as of right now, I know very little about what’s going on with that. So, there’s your answer. I’m saving my use of that one dog gif for when I really need it, but I definitely thought about putting it here. But rest assured: I have no idea what I’m doing.

I did get a starred review from the School Library Journal, which is really cool. I can’t find the actual article, but they put that on my Penguin Random House page, including this quote:

“This is an impressive debut novel and an author to watch.”

To which I immediately went: “OH GOD NO PLEASE DON’T WATCH ME OH MY GOD NO ONE IS WATCHING ME RIGHT???”

I also found out literally yesterday that there’s going to be an event–a book party???–at Tenley Library here in DC on the release date, June 26th. I really hope people come! I’m kind of picturing it like my birthday party where no one comes, and all the other disappointments of my existence. I am totally ready with my one red balloon tied to my wrist,1 and my Indiana Jones hat, my sloppy melting cake out of which I will eat one sliver and cry…but, when you expect the worst, you’re always happy when anything but the worst happens, so it’s probably good that I’m managing my expectations.

Totally super prepared, internet abyss to whom I speak. Totally extra super prepared, this one.

  1. Fun fact, I actually love helium balloons. Like bizarrely love them.
