Eek. This week did not go well.
Ok, so in my defense, it was dangerously cold on Monday, and my little Hobonichi Weeks has a very firm warning scribbled all over Monday that says “DO NOT RUN OUTSIDE TODAY” in all caps. Cold weather really screws everything up for me, because I have a transportation problem.
But what happened later in the week? Not sure. I just didn’t feel well because it was cold out, and getting in the pool sounded like a fate worse than death. I swear to god, I would rather eat spiders than do this god damn catch up drill. But all in all, by the weekend I got back into the swing of things, and I’m optimistic for the next week and feeling pretty well rested. So, not a total loss. I’m really ready for winter to be over though.
This Week’s Training Was Brought To You By…
Journey To Italy: I didn’t love this movie, but it was undeniably well made.
Railsea: I reviewed this over on Goodreads, but in retrospect, I think I just want to go back to New Crobuzon and it prejudiced me against the whole book.
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe: Not done yet! But the audiobook is read by Lin-Manuel Miranda who is being remarkably subtle and well-suited to the book.
I think I said this last week, but I’m really looking forward to being good enough at swimming that I can go back to listening to Lux while I swim. I recently found a few new1 shows I’m really excited for.
